TO BE WITH YOU

⁵ I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. ⁶ If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. ⁷ If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Drawing its encouragement from John 15:5, the 2BWY Tee calls us to seek the Lord in simplicity.

When our duties feel weighty, we strive to bear fruit by our own efforts. And when disappointed by a small harvest, we begin to question God’s faithfulness towards us. Yet, in truth, the Lord does not always reveal His love towards us in dramatic ways. Rather, He walks with us through the ordinary.

Spero’s prayer is that the 2BWY Tee would serve as a reminder to stay rooted in Christ. Our strength is weak, and the world often feels impossible to navigate. Yet Jesus implores us to simply look to Him: “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”

As we navigate the ordinary, may we abide in Jesus Christ, the true vine—even in the mundane act of putting on a t-shirt. For though the seasons change, Christ the vine remains steady.
